This traditional Saudi Arabian dish is a fragrant and flavourful rice dish made with spices, meat and vegetables. It is a great way to share a meal with family and friends, and is sure to be a hit at any gathering.
Soak the rice in water for 20 minutes.
Fry the onions until golden brown.
Add the ginger-garlic paste, tomato, yoghurt, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder and ghee to the onions and fry for 5 minutes.
Add the soaked rice and fry for another 5 minutes.
Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 25 minutes.
Garnish with mint and coriander leaves and lemon juice.
