On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut out donuts with a donut cutter or biscuit cutter.
Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Fry donuts a few at a time for about 2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar before serving.
