Bahraini Chicken Biryani is a classic dish from Bahrain. It is a fragrant and delicious dish made with tender chicken, basmati rice, and a blend of aromatic spices. The chicken is cooked separately from the rice in a flavorful broth, and then the two are combined and cooked together. The result is a dish that is full of flavor and perfect for a special occasion or a family dinner.
In a large bowl, combine the chicken, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, and yoghurt. Mix until all the ingredients are well combined.
In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and fry until golden brown. Add the chicken mixture and fry until the chicken is cooked through.
Add the chopped tomatoes, green chillies, and water, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes.
Add the basmati rice and stir to combine. Cover the pot and simmer for another 20 minutes.
Remove the pot from the heat and let it sit, covered, for 10 minutes. Fluff the biryani with a fork and garnish with the chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves.
