Marinate the chicken with yogurt, salt, and spices for at least 30 minutes.
Heat the ghee in a pot and add cumin seeds, coriander powder, red chili powder, and garam masala powder. Stir for a few minutes.
Add the onions and cook until golden brown.
Add the marinated chicken and cook until the chicken is almost done.
Add the basmati rice and stir for a few minutes.
Add 2 cups of water and bring to a boil.
Cover the pot and cook on low heat for about 20 minutes until the rice is cooked.
Layer the chicken and rice in a pot and cook for about 10 minutes.
Garnish with coriander and mint leaves.
