This traditional New Zealand savoury pie is made with a delicious beef and vegetable filling, encased in a buttery pastry. It's a great dish for cold winter days.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Brown beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add carrots, onions, and celery and cook for 5 minutes.
Stir in flour, salt, and pepper.
Add beef stock and simmer for 10 minutes.
Roll out puff pastry and cut into two pieces.
Place one piece of puff pastry in a 9-inch pie plate.
Fill with beef and vegetable mixture.
Top with remaining puff pastry.
Mix egg and milk together and brush over the top of the pie.
Bake for 45 minutes.
