Add the tomatoes, basil, oregano, thyme, salt and pepper and cook, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes are softened, about 10 minutes.
Add the vegetable broth and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in the cream.
Serve hot.

Add the vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
Using an immersion blender, blend the soup until smooth. Alternatively, transfer the soup in batches to a blender and blend until smooth.
Return the soup to the pot and stir in the cream. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Serve hot, topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
