Ema Datshi is the National Dish of Bhutan. This dish is a spicy mix of chillis and the delicious local cheese known as Datshi. The cheese is homemade, which gives the soup its unique taste. The stew is served over red rice.

Slice the chilies, onions and garlic
Heat oil in a pan and sauté onions and garlic
Add chillies and cheese to the pan
Add water and salt and let it simmer till it becomes a thick stew
Serve over red rice

First, slice the chilies into thin, long strips, chop the onions and mince the garlic
Heat the vegetable oil in a pan and add the chopped onions and minced garlic. Sauté until they turn golden brown
Next, add the sliced chillies and cheese to the pan. Stir well
Pour in the water and add salt. Let it simmer on medium heat for about 20 minutes until it becomes a thick stew
Serve the Ema Datshi over cooked red rice
