In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Stir together until evenly mixed.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add the butter to the dry ingredients and stir until evenly mixed.
Add the water and knead the dough until it forms a ball. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface until it is about 1/4 inch thick. Cut out circles with a biscuit cutter or a round cookie cutter.
Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Carefully place the dough circles in the hot oil and fry for about 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
Remove the cronuts from the oil and place on a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Let cool for a few minutes before filling with flavored cream.
Fill the cronuts with flavored cream and top with powdered sugar.
