Cut the beef into cubes and set aside.
Chop the onions and potatoes and set aside.
In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef and onions and sauté until the beef is browned, about 5 minutes.
Add the potatoes, paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt and pepper. Stir to combine.
Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the beef and potatoes are tender.
