Soak the black beans overnight in a large bowl of water. Drain and rinse before using.
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the onion and bell pepper and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the pork and beef and cook until browned, about 8 minutes. Add the garlic, salt, pepper, cumin, oregano, and cilantro and cook for 1 minute.
Add the beans and chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Serve with rice, farofa, and other side dishes.
