Add the onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and cardamom and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Stir in the tomato paste and diced tomatoes and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Add the chicken broth, carrots, potatoes, bell peppers, parsley, cilantro, and lemon juice.
Cover and reduce the heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve hot with cooked rice.
