Cut the chicken into cubes. Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add a few tablespoons of oil and the chicken cubes. Cook for about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through.
Chop the onion, carrots, celery, garlic, and ginger. Add to the pot and sauté for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the cumin, coriander, and cayenne pepper and stir to combine. Add the tomato paste and stir to combine.
Stir in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.
Stir in the green peas and lemon juice and simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
