Soak the chickpeas overnight in water.
Heat the oil in a pan and add the cumin, coriander, turmeric, black pepper and salt. Add the onions, garlic and ginger paste and sauté for 5 minutes.
Add the chickpeas and sauté for another 5 minutes.
Add the chopped coriander leaves and cook for another 5 minutes.

Soak the chickpeas overnight in a bowl of water.
Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat and add the cumin, coriander, turmeric, black pepper and salt. Mix them together.
Add the chopped onions, garlic and ginger paste to the pan and sauté for 5 minutes until the onions are lightly browned.
Add the soaked chickpeas to the pan and sauté for another 5 minutes.
Add the chopped coriander leaves and cook for another 5 minutes. The chickpeas should be cooked through.
Serve the dish with rice or naan.
