Peel and dice potatoes.
Cook bacon until crisp.
Mix together potatoes, bacon, onion, garlic, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper in a bowl.

Peel the potatoes and cut into small cubes. Place in a pot and cover with cold water.
Bring to a boil and cook for about 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Drain and let cool.
In a skillet, cook the bacon until crisp. Remove from skillet and let cool. Crumble the bacon into small pieces.
In a large bowl, mix together the potatoes, bacon, onion, garlic, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper.
Toss the salad until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Serve the salad warm or cold.
